Is there a kitchen sink drain assembly that is shorter or are they all the same size. There is no garbage disposal in this sink. This is for a small shallow prep sink and I want to use the space underneath for trash and was planning to do a tight bend with the Ptrap etc. in the back. I need approx. 2 inches of additional space. The kohler duostrainer sink drain I have seems to have quite a bit of drop before the join to the drain pipe.

The tailpiece is what comes out of the strainer, you can cut it to length.

As we have a tightbend with an elbow under the strainer, the tail piece is not an issue. The strainer itself seems quite deep. It is around 4in tall. I am wondering if there are shallower options that are shorter and can meet the drain higher.
