Old concrete laundry sink

I have fortunately inherited my parents old reinforced concrete laundry tub. Until I find room in the garage, I would like to keep it outside and use it as a garden sink.

The sink seems indestructable. Any problems leaving it open to the elements? I should add that I am near saltwater.

What would you all recommend using as a base? The existing steel frame would not last in my salt environment. How about stacked paver bricks? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

If you live where freezing temperatures are a reality, that's a quick way to destroy something that's lasted for decades indoors.

As far as a base goes, powder coated steel would be the ticket. If the existing base is in good condition, have it powder coated with an exterior grade paint. Look in your local online yellow pages for powder coating operations or ask the local custom automotive shop who they use.

Thanks live wire oak...I live in sw Florida a block from the Gulf so we rarely get freezing temps.

However the salt air is very corrosive. Great idea about the powder coating the existing base...it appears to be in good shape.
