plumbing in exterior or interiro wall, which is better?

we are doing an addition of a new 5x8 bathroom with a very typical layout: vanity, toilet, and a standard alcove bath. it will be entered from the short end and one of the long end is the exterior wall.

As this is new construction, we could put the plumbing on either sides of the long wall. the question is, is there any cost different to put plumbing in the exterior wall, or in the interior wall? which will be less costly in terms of both construction and maintenance? how about window and light source? is one better than the other?

We are in north California so freezing is not an issue.

thanks
