Hello fellas! I had an old sump pump corroded through in the sump basin. The oil from the sump pump drained out in the sump pump basin. I removed the pump, pumped out the water, but there is still some oil left in the bottom 1/2 inch of water left in the basin that I could not pump out. I bought a new Zoeller 98 pump and I am ready to install it. My concern is that the traces of oil in the water might cause damage to the pump. Is that concern warranted?

Soak up the residue with rags. Then install the pump.

Thanks. I will do.
