The problem I have is with a Hague watermax 52 AMQ conditioner with the 2 tanks. When the conditioner comes on the digital display reads "Going home", water starts flowing and such. After a few minutes the display reads "home not found" and the thing just starts beeping at me and will not respond to pressing of buttons.

Is this indicative of a problem with the mechanics of the unit, or a software or digital problem? Everything is set up as per the manual, except the pre-filter was not present until I replaced it. Lots of rust in filter housing when removed too.
