Shower diverter problem

I have a tub/shower combo, and have a problem with the diverter you pull up to turn the shower on. When it's fully pulled up, water still comes out of the faucet. It's a Moen faucet with a single hot/cold control.

Can this be repaired, or will it require a new tub faucet? Is this something I could fix myself, or do I need to call a plumber? We are not very good at DIY.

Replacing the tub spout will solve the problem.
