Don't you plan on using the RO water for cooking?

RO water at sink AND for fridge and icemaker is the way to go and it's easy to have both. Just T off the RO output and put a 1/4 turn John Guest shut-off valve in the line to the fridge. Be sure you plumb the line from the RO to the fridge in PE (polyethylene) tubing not copper.

Be aware that some contemporary fridges need more pressure on the water line than ROs have so a booster pump may be necessary. If you're dealing with a competent water treatment professional they should be well are of this and if they're not... RUN and find another company.

Yes, we do plan to use for cooking which is the point I am trying to make with my hubby. He seems to think the fridge can supply that water as well.

We have an R/O unit under the sink. Our fridge is on the opposite wall, and it would caused too much uproar to run a line over there, so we chose a fridge without an ice/water dispenser.

We do old fashioned ice trays with the R/O water, and keep a container of R/O water in the fridge for drinking. I cannot even imagine trying to get water for cooking, coffee, or drinks you make in a pitcher out of a fridge door dispenser!!

We also have our son use R/O water for toothbrushing. If your water is too high in certain minerals, it can mottle kids' teeth.

Absolutely get the sink faucet! We use it constantly for cooking and making coffee/tea, etc. I would take that over the fridge personally if I had to choose one or the other.
