kitchen faucet no sidespray. Can plumber could add sidespray

I bought a faucet that I loved but it didn't come with a sidespray. So I bought another faucet on sale that had a sidespray I liked. The countertop people cut the hole for the sidespray. The plumber is here today abd tells me if the kitchen faucet didn't come with a sidespray then he can't install a side spray
:(

There HAS to be some creative way to install that sidespray, right? Pleeeeease tell me there's a way. I can tell that The plumber has decided I'm a pain in the rear for even thinking about buying it separately. he's losing his patience with me so I'm not going to push him. But I'm wondering if there's another plumber out there that would be willing to install some sort of diverter to the sidespray. Couldn't we tap into the hot water line somehow?

Thanks for any input you may be able to provide me with.
