Can you identify this pipe

Hi, I'm installing a new kitchen sink with all new plumbing. I pulled out all the old plumbing without thinking and now I'm baffled. There are 2 PVC pipes coming from wall. Please see attached photo. The large pipe in the center, is a 2" waste line. To the top right, there is a 1.5" line. The 1.5" runs up the wall behind. I guess its a vent but I'm not sure and have no clue how its suppose to connect. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

It probably is a plumbing vent and it connects to the waste pipe along with sink drain. If you look outside of you house in that area you might see the vent poking out of the roof.

Probably a vent as you said. Connect it with a 'T' on the sewer gas side of the trap.

I had to lower the drain to fit my new sink configuration. Here's a pic behind the wall. I think this was actually a dishwasher drain.
