Per their website, the ibox was first sold in 2001, so it's not new. It's a clever idea and it's a problem solver when the plumbing work needs to be done but hardware choices remain open.

I used the Hansgrohe system for a shower that was rebuilt last year (I didn't do the work). Both my wife and I like having the separate temperature and flow controls.

We also have Grohe products in the house. I would describe both as German, European Modern in style and approach and very good quality. Hansgrohe has common ownership with Delta, I don't know who runs who. As to differences, I can't say, I can only say we've been happy with both.
