Crud in Kitchen Faucet

I have a single handle kitchen faucet with the pull out sprayer. Recently the spray head has become clogged with little green/black pieces of algea / mold? I have traced the origin of the problem to the flex hose that connects to the spray head. There is no evidence of the problem in any other faucets in the house. Although I have torn the faucet down and flushed the line I am still getting little pieces of crud from the faucet. Has anyone else had this problem with this style of faucet? Today I will take the faucet apart and clean the flex hose with a chlorine mix to see if that will kill whatever is growing in the line. Still need to know what is causing this problem. Obviously I do not want to use this water for potable use.

call the manufacturer and they will send you a new faucet.

Faucet is a Kohler Forte K-10433. I have communicated with Kohler Customer Service three times in the last two weeks. Each time a different answer is received ranging from they will send a new head to I need to flush my plumbing. In all fairness to the CS reps I don't think they knowledge to diagnose this kind of problem. This is why I am trying to find if others have had problems with build up in the flex hose or if this problem is unique to me.

Well with green sand filter and softwater system. Problem is only occuring in the poly flex hose that goes to the faucet sprayer head. We have never seen this problem until this faucet was installed. Aparently no one else has had this problem.

Are you certain it is algae/mold and not pieces of the hose, o-rings or gaskets?

Sounds like something in the water is degrading that specific hose.

What's the PH of the water after the treatment hardware?
