Kohler Flushometer valve with Toto Toilet

Hi All,
We are redoing our small bathroom and need to replace the current toilet/flushometer combo.
We like the looks of the Kohler flusometer 1.6gpf valve, but the Kohler toilet is too long(29" from wall to front installed.)
Could we use the TOTO flushometer toilet(26" from wall to front, rated 1.28-1.6gpf) with the Kohler valve? Or would it be best to stick to the same brand?

It should work. You can adjust the flow rate if the higher gpf causes an over-exuberant flush.
