Yessir. That's true. I have been doing a lot of Moon appreciation this week. I think this month it's called the buck moon. It came up yellow yesterday. I remember walking a dog at 1:30 this a.m. and thinking to myself how the full moon played into military history.

Beautiful colors, Lilo. When I saw the thin sliver of moon last night, I was startled, b/c it was so big and hanging so low in te western sky and it was only about eight o'clock. If it was setting and had been overhead all day, I definitely missed it! Maggie. my cat. slept on my chest for 30minutes around 2 a.m., kept me warm, but she was heavy! :)

I read this on another site last night: December 12 Â The Full Cold Moon Sky watchers will be dazzled by an exceptionally high, bright, and large Moon. In fact, this Moon is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons this year. Why? The Moon is both in its full phase and at a point in its orbit that is nearest Earth, called its perigee. When these events occur together, the Moon is closer to Earth than usual. The effect? The Full Cold Moon will appear especially large near the horizon as the Sun sets. The Moon is also high at this time of year; when it's overhead (near midnight), it will light up the landscape. Take a magical stroll and see your world at night. You won't need a flashlight! Last night's moon over northern Illinois was worthy of this title. It started out quite 'rose gold' and entangled in our sycamore. The sunset Saturday night was also spectacular, with *neon* pinks and blotches of white against the clouds. It looked like something you'd see over the desert. We watched it for twenty minutes while driving north from the city on the Edens expressway.
