Beautiful, isn't it? Some of you may remember we stayed at the Chateau Lake Louise on our ski vacation in 2005. Unfortunately that was the year my back took a dive and after ending up in the emergency room in Banff, I spent the rest of the week on crutches and Percoset. It was so disappointing to have to sit and look at that lake along with what appeared to be some great walking trails and not be able to go off exploring. Maybe next time...in the meantime thanks for sharing these! Sue

I love the Saanich Peninsula, but I've only been through Malahat a few times, going between Parksville and Victoria. I've lost touch with my friend in Parksville, and I'm a bit worried about him. The Christmas card I sent him was returned as unknown. Great place for having a yacht! I loved sailing through the Straits of Georgia. Lars

Sadly to say, global warming is having a huge effect on Glacier National Park. The park was started in 1810, I believe and in 1850 there were 150 glaciers. Today there are only 35 and receding at an alarming rate. The scientists predict that there will be no active glaciers there by 2050. It is sad to think that my grandson will not be able to view this National Park as it is today. The changes will also impact on the ecosystems.

Candlewood (by my right elbow) just keeping sprouting higher. One of my mother's montana seedlings, so it will grow large. Still one of my favorite plantings.
