| Thanks, Konrad! Yin and Yang is a tenet of Chinese philosophy that says seemingly contrary forces are in fact interconnected and dependent upon one another. I mentioned it above because of the way that first image resembles the classic Yin/Yang design:

| Oil and water with a colorful bg(?). Have seen other photos and it looks fun to do but have never tried. Fun results and pretty! |

| I love the look of these pictures! I'm just dipping my fingers into photography and trying to soak up all the information and ideas that I can. How did you get these very cool shots? Mel |

| Thanks, guys! I've had a lot of fun with this technique. I've exhibited some, and given a couple away as baby gifts. They make nice wall decor for a nursery. The colors are determined by the background you choose. Mel, here are the instructions I used. Oil on Water Photographs I've seen some good results using gift wrap as the background. I paint my backgrounds on foam core. I recommend taking the pictures outdoors in bright sun. The process can be messy if you have a spill, so I'd rather not do it in the house. If you try this, anyone, please share your results! |

Special Notes for Uploading Images:
- You will be asked to designate your image file on the preview page, the second step in posting. You should an edit box asking for the image file name and a Browse button to the right of it. Click on the browse button to locate the file on your computer.
- Image uploads are not enabled for followup messages.
- The Subject of your post should describe your image, i.e., "Barn Owl."
- It is illegal to post copyrighted material. Only post images which you have created.
- Image files may not be larger than 60 kilobytes.
- Images must be either in GIF or JPEG format and have one of the following file extensions: .gif, .jpeg or .jpg
- File names containing only letters, numbers, dashes or underlines will work best, such as: "im-1_a.jpg" File names containing special charcters like #, @ or %, may cause problems.
- File uploads work with Netscape version 2.0 and above,
and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, but they do not work with many of the browsers that claim to be compatible with Netscape, including earlier versions of Internet Explorer.
