What a handsome boy! I wish I could see the girl better. She looks like a cutie. I love Red hair. They look like they are having fun playing in the sunflowers!

Dee, Tasha in the picture with Tucker is the same one in the first pic I posted.. They were trying to hid so just their faces showed. It was a fun day.

There are insects that are pests and there are insects that are beneficial. Of the some 8,000,000 insects identified about 8,000 are considered plant pests and many of the others will eat those pestsa, if allowed to. Newspaper and leaves are mulches and although they can help deter some of the insect pests the primary reason fo rusing them is to provide an environment that helps plants grow and maybe be able to shrug off attacks by the pests, but they are not meant to be something to fight off insect pests. The mulches can also create a habitat that helps the beneficials exist. To know what to do to control insect pests that are not controlled by the beneficials means proper identification of the pest so you know what to use to aid in controlling them without also killing off the beneficials.

Susan, your Ascot is sensational -- exactly what I'm hoping for. Nanadoll recommended it, and I wish I could thank her. Mine was only planted bare root in April, so I assume it hasn't shown me its gumption yet, but I'm so confident it'll be perfect at the Humpty Dumpty House Foundation gardens that I want another one. Tradescant, on the other hand, has been spunky from very early on, blooming like a party girl rather than making a race for the top of its arbor. Since the arbor is pretty, I'm just letting Tradescant bloom away. Many red roses, including some Austins, turn pink in our hot weather. Aware of this, I really did my homework before choosing Tradescant, which appeared to stay darker than most of the reds I explored. The Dark Lady seems to be cerise much of the time in my area as well. I was afraid I might not like Tradescant, since I prefer the elegant deep cups of many Austins. But as I watch all these new roses blossom and grow, I find my tastes changing, and take great pleasure in their multitude of colors and forms. jannike

Rita, yes its blooms are so pretty,and my picture sure dont do it justice.I have yet to get a ddecent picture of it.The yellow spots on it is pollen.Everything here is covered with yellow pollen. Jean

Funny about the second one because that was the kids ideal. They were hot, hungry and tired as you could tell in the first pic. LOL

Thank you so much! It was a fun weekend. Tucker made not only my day or weekend but my whole year because he wanted to spend the whole weekend at my house. His Mom and Tasha continued to travel a bit more to see other family members on thier vacation. It thought it was pretty cool that Tucker thougth it would be more fun to stay with his ol aunt!...
