I've had underwater cameras for years, mainly viewing on my inside tv, but recently started stream via a dedicated web server http://50.45.147.41:4455/ The view on a television is remarkable. I use the non-Infrared Lorex 6991 model, which has unfortunately been discontinued. The gopro will work great for Hi Def recordings, but IMO is not a suitable permanent solution due to battery power and lack of wifi transmitting under water.

I know exactly what you mean Sammy! All sort of red roses are really difficult to picture - so they truly look great on pictures too. I use Canons 400D and 450D with various lenses, and I still think it is difficult to really capture red roses well. It takes many shoots to get a satisfactory result. I still need to take at least 10 shots before one of them turn out half decent. Red Austins and Reddish purple Gallicas ( And the Rose Ebb Tide) are very hard to picture well. I have never been able to do it with point and shoot cameras. Even with the more expensive DSLRs The colours never come out right. I have most succes using the flash even in bright sunny conditions for red roses. This way I get results that are better than without using the flash - I really don´t know why since I am no tech nerd - but it works for me: See these examples. Tuscany: Papa Meilland (Full sun - no blitz): Papa Meilland (Full sun - with blitz): Red/burgundy roses are a real challenge!!! I don´t think I will never understand why they are so hard to picture, compared to other roses... I still rely on shooting many pictures and choosing the best. I think I took many good rose pictures with a cheap Samsung point and shoot digital camera - but the red roses always looked wrong or pink.

Thanks, Eloise! All of the pics I take are when my camera is on the Auto setting, because I have no clue how to use it, otherwise. LOL With my A95 (and probably all of these similar Canons), I love how I can get rid of most of the "shakes" by holding the button all the way down. The camera (usually) auto-focuses for me, which is nice, since I hardly ever use our tripod. About the only thing I don't like about this camera is the long wait necessary in between flash photos. I really appreciate the flip-out LCD screen, as well as the size of it, too! My folks have another model with a smaller screen that isn't moveable, and it's definitely more difficult to view previews on it. You're right about the quarter, Bearstate. The preview looked clear, but when I viewed it on my computer, it appeared more blurry. I haven't had that issue with the usual pics I take (flowers, nature stuff...), so I imagine a coin collector wanting to take pics of his stash might have issues. :D From about 2 ft. away, with above lighting and flash - I usually do some editing in Paint Shop Pro (size, sharpness, contrast) before sharing my pics, as well. Some day, we'll get an upgrade on this camera, but until then, I'm enjoying the heck out of it. :) Brenda
