Looking for a very simple to use Photo Program

I have over 1000 pictures from vacations to download;name and burn to cd's. Is there a very simple to use free photo program that I can use for this?

I have Roxio Creator for burning.

Picasa, through Google, is pretty handy, simple and free.

I downloaded Picasa this morning and everything went fine until I came to name each photo, that's where I got confused. Couldn't figure out how to save the caption after I named it. If I can't find anything easier I'll go back in there and see what I did wrong.

Karen, DH is such a good sport :) He was actually helping to come up with names for the food :) I balked at anything he wanted to use the word "pus" in LOL! Jeanne, I wish I could use that cloth for other 'scapes as it is really pretty IRL....hmmm...maybe I'll incorporate it into our anniversary tablescape?? LOL! And shopping w/ CC was such a thrill. Ahh Punk, thanks for looking at my other tablescapes :) I don't have to explain to anyone here the dish obsession we each fall victim to :) I am super excited as I have found my dream dining table and will be going at lunch today to pick it up. What photo editing program can I use to change door colors, etc?

I don't know anything about Mac's but all of my computers have come with a paint program or Photo Editing of some sort. Check your program files. Maybe under "accessories" or something like that. If you don't already have something, you can download one of the programs that the paint companies have such as Benjamin Moore. I think theirs is around $10 and totally worth it in my opinion. I use it ALL the time! Just beware that the colors on a virtual drawing aren't usually very accurate. They are only to give you an idea which direction to go when you're searching for paint samples to try. Good Luck! Lindy

I have a couple that I've used over the years. They came with my Canon Cameras, I've had 3. Adobe Photo Deluxe Business Edition Ulead PhotoImpact I also have quite a few others which many others have posted about here. I also have quite a few others that haven't been listed, but the two above have been my favorites over the years!

..of those you mention, I probably use Windows Photo Viewer the most, but I also have Play Memories Home, which I think is a Sony thing...it came with my camera and I need it for that.... I also use Picasa Web Albums but less so these days.... ...it's good now that we can upload direct from our photo gallery so it dispenses with the need for an external hosting site if you want to post more than one photo at a time..... ...I hope you are finding your way around the forum... I'm probably out on my own here, but I find I prefer it now to the old site... I think it's important to get your settings just the way you want them and to make use of those that can be very useful to you, once you realise just how they work....

I don't think you have to do anything to save it...if you type the caption it will save automatically. The trash can icon at the bottom right will let you delete the caption...the icon on the bottom left will let you hide or show the caption. Hope this helps.

Picasa3 is ok, I have it also, BUT...PhotoScape is much better, and you can do so much more with it...also a free download..
