june 2007 There were some that I planted in other containers first mainly in my case to keep the bunnies and other things to keep from eating them. But most of them went into the ground straight from the jug. I took so long to get the zinnias in the ground that the red star zinnia (i think it is the correct name) started blooming while it was still in the ws jug so I was getting worried. But they made the move great and are blooming thier little heads off. And you can't even tell when I cut a bunch for the house. Thanks everyone. Paula

Hi guys, Great pics Gordon. My question isn't nearly as exotic but I've decided to hang it out there anyway, 'cause I think I gotta getta couple more plants! Two of those Neos really leap out at me, both with the top half of the plant heavily coloured: the vivid pink one with 13-14 plants in a circle around the Brom Soc Qld sign in pic 6, and the vivid red one with 5-6 plants arranged in front of that Ae. biflora in pic 9. I know there are plenty of plants around that are sort of like that, but those two particular ones are just stunners. If anyone, eg a Brom Soc Qld member, happens to know exactly which plants they are, then I'd just love to find out! Cheers, Paul

Hi Bonnie, I just joined the forum this evening. I am heartbroken for you. I had been excited early spring to see my Crocosmia had babies coming up. I thought about moving them, but decided to wait. The flower bed is by the curb. I noticed that the mother plant was missing a few weeks later. I couldn't believe someone would steal a plant out of the ground! Well, I figured out what happened when the crew came to paint the fire hydrant in our yard. The three young men parked right in front of the planted area, when they could have parked a little ways down and avoided it. They threw the hose down right on my perennial geraniums, and one guy stood right on my Crocosmia babies! He must have killed the mother plant when they put the primer on the hydrant, and took it away thinking I wouldn't notice. I walked over and asked him to please stand on the stone slab that marked the path, which was right next to the plant. He wasn't happy about it, but he stood with one foot on the slab, and the other on the curb. I sat on the porch until they left, and then called the city. I told the lady there that I realize it's city property, and was a little inconvenient for the paint crew, but the path was right next to the plant, and they could be more considerate of the plants. I was pleased she agreed and was going to have the crew be asked to watch out for plants. I guess I was fortunate it was only one plant, and I still have part of it. I hope your bed recovers well, and you post follow up photos. Sue

Mystical Rainbow looks great. Nice to have a daylily bloom this early. Love, love the birdbath so pretty. Not sure if it should be painted or not. Probably would look great either way. Love the lupine. Lots of flower stalks so you must have more than one plant. I see it in the backround of the poppy pictures too. Plus I love the red poppies, so pretty. I got WINTER WALTZ as a bonus from Schreiners last year also. I love the large flowers, the color and all the ruffles. Last but not least, I love the shots accross the garden, the one with the prunners on the bench is my favorite. Your garden is so lovely.
