If the battery is 2 years old, it becomes suspect. IF the engine is a Briggs OHV, the valve adjustment becomes suspect.

Well , let me update the Stihl start saga. I sprained my right wrist. Starting the saw was painful, Left handed was too awkward. I grit my teeth and pulled the saw. Each pull was a bit better. I went for the carb cleaner and gave it a squirt into the throat . I pulled and it was much easier. The saw started and I was cutting wood. I wonder if the rings dry out and drag until the mix gets to them. That rig would prolong the usefulness of my pull start 5kw generator. Please market this starter. Id buy one.

OP: I have an air pump that I use for the tractor and car tires . For the tractor it can inflate the tires in about two minutes, much less when adjusting the tire pressure before mowing. Even with the Van which requires 38 psi in 16" tires, I can use it to adjust the pressure. At this high pressure I have to have the pump running before connecting to the tire, but it can increase the pressure from about 30 psi to 38 psi in about a 1 minute. I have had the pump for about 10 years now. I got it at Harbor Freight. and believe I paid about $17 on special. Hello, Home Depot sells 120v/12v transformers. I think that should do the trick. I am not sure however that you need two separate transformers if each 12v motor will operate at different times. Why not use the same 12v transformer to power both?
