On my way back from vacation I was thinking of your pottager,Michelle and wondered how it has come along...wowza! It looks phenominal! How about an aerial view--do you have a ladder? just kidding: ) I just admire your knack for combos-nice first pic(cool fern!) Heck all the containers are eyecatching. On pic #3 what is the foliage plant in the right uppermost corner? I like your use of your gate and the small plantings-I would love to have so many rocks for edging...are those from the farm fields? What is the tallest purple plant to teh right of the rock in pic #7. Such nice gardens,Michelle! Things are looking good at your farm. Other than my potted plants, shrubs and trees, there is not much left in our yard. What the deer have not eaten two large goats finished off! A next door neighbor moved away and left them to fend for themselves! They found our yard to contain some tasty morsels. :-( I called our local sheriff's department. The cousin sheriff came after getting off work ( he lives just a little ways up the road from us). After some taking of notes, he went home and got his wife and leashes and took them away. ( I had chained one up to a tree since it had a collar on it.) It turns out the goats are ones their 17 year old daughter (that was killed in last year's tragic accident) had raised , and sold them to the neighbor! Charges were to be filed against the former neighbor....His Great Pyrenees was also left behind.

Hi Everyone, especially my new GW friend Judye! Judye is absolutely right, I have to name names. We took a little excursion to TN last week and we got back on Friday. As you can see by my post about Roosters I had a small problem with some that my friend/neighbor has and I was trying to help out. PJ and I went to Tennessee basically for the ribs, yes you read that correctly, ribs. We wanted to check out smokers and get some knowledge about them from the locals down there. Well when we came back, PJ HAD to have one, so we spent the entire weekend working on purchasing, setting up and learning to use a smoker. I will post pics of that later in the week but first I have to name the peonies. I do not have the digital card that those pictures are on here at work, they are at home nice and safe. When I get home I will feed the family (that entails PJ, my two dogs and various wild birds out in the yard), water all of my plants, help PJ finish his little Smoker patio (basically going to the local Home Improvement store and saying 'Yes dear, you can buy more bricks') and then I will post the names, this morning a woman that I work with came up to me and said "Hey, I thought you were going to post the name of those flowers Friday? What happened?!" I asked "what are you talking about?" "On GardenWeb, aren't you the one who posted those pictures two weeks ago? I would like to know the names of some of them so I can keep and eye out for them." I didn't know that she knew it was me. So I cannot hide behind my monitor because someone can really scold me in person about this. So be on the lookout tonight for my newest update. Thanks everyone, it was fun sharing my trip with you all. I will try to get the other few photos of the garden posted tomorrow evening, won't have time tonight. Mantis, I don't think AAFC was orangeish, so it must just be the sun, perspective and/or picture showing it that way. If it's blooming when I go back, I will take a closer look at the coloration.
