I stopped here to practice...I wasn't real impressed with what I got but I hope there pleasant enough for you to view...Played around with a new-to-me plugin (optikVerveLabs) I was able to download into Irfanviews' plugins directory...

Good job! My least favorite is the last one....my most favorite the top one.
The sepia was a good choice for that photo, I think.

Missouri Plants may not be of much help since he only has a page for Solidago altissima. Many authorities consider S. altissima to be a variety of S. canadensis (var. scabra), one of the differences being that S. altissima has grayish leaves and a uniformly hairy stem (as opposed to the lower half being mostly smooth in typical S. canadensis). The leaves of S. altissima also tend to have only a few shallow teeth or no teeth, unlike the plant in the picture. Another possibility is S. gigantea, which has mostly smooth and somewhat waxy stems below the inflorescence. More pictures of the whole plant, stem, and inflorescence might be useful.

Great story Dave, I've always thought the fox snakes were pretty cool snakes. I have only found two glass lizards myself and both of them were found when it was extremely cool. They were easy to handle and check out. Have heard they are a lot more difficult in warmer temps.

Not sure, is this a old abandoned railroad, the tracks appear to be twisted.

Not an aboandoned, Konrad..I think the angle I took makes it appear so...Use to be track for pleasure-travelling from Negley to Rogers OH...They shut that part down and is now being used for hauling dump...Everyone here was opposed but were just the little guy who speaks up...Just to be ignored...
