Remove furniture from the room, then vacuum the floor to remove all surface dust, pet hair and other debris. Apply a sealant stripper to the cleaned floor to remove the remains of any previous layers of sealant. It is essential to remove all traces of existing sealant because it stops the new sealant from permeating the tiles. Read and carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions for the application of the stripper, paying particular attention to the ventilation and temperature stipulations. Vacuum the floor to remove all traces of stripped sealant and other debris released from the tile surfaces by the stripper. Ensure that the floor is clean and dust free. Read the instructions accompanying the new sealant. Apply to the floor as directed, usually with a large brush or a paint roller. Alternatively, for larger areas rent a commercial floor sealant roller. Apply the sealant evenly; avoid creating pools in hollows and leaving raised areas uncoated.

This is from an earlier thread (link below) Posted by grannabelle (My Page) on Sat, Mar 27, 10 at 11:43 as you may have seen on my posting of yesterday, FL Joshua also rescued my counter tops this week... here is what i consider an invaluable piece of advice that he gave me while he was here, having to do with water rings and the like (which in my case was the least of the probs with my stone)- perhaps many of you are aware of this, but i was not, and so i pass it on...i always oiled on top of the rings and spots in an attempt to have them blend in..with no success...Joshua explained that before oiling i have to scrub the ring or spot with dish soap and water to remove it...and then re-oil...otherwise, you are just sealing the mark under the oil...last night i saw two very small little spots (don't know from what) - followed Joshua's advice and two minutes later they were completely gone... Their website is really easy to use. It allows you to sort by stone type, color, size, and then to look at photos of the exact stones they carry, what size they are, what the finish is, etc. We're dealing with a place up in Santa Rosa that sources their stone from MSI and they sent us to the Hayward location to see more slabs than they had on hand. You've tried mightily. Tme to call in the pros. Call local professional tile cleaners. They have equipment and chemicals that homeowners can't duplicate, and their expertise of course. Local real estate agents may have referrals.
