Sheila - Did you find something that works for you? I can't imagine a reacher device or tongs that would work for weeding - if you found or made something, let us know. If not, did you look at the hoes that have a loop for cutting (scuffle or action hoe)? Marshallz mentioned it in an earlier reply. This type of hoe is very easy to use and is available with small cutting loops for getting in close to plants. I have seen them at a couple of local retailers, but those often have heavy handles so you might check for a lightweight version online if interested. Scuffle hoe description: ""Scuffle hoes" are designed to cut in two directions - on both the push and pull strokes, thus they can work twice as fast as a conventional hoe. Furthermore, they donÂt have to be lifted out of the ground. Many have blades that are shaped in a loop. The loop may be rigidly attached to the toolhead, or the loop may be free to wobble through a short arc. Again, personal preference will dictate your choice. You choose a handle and attachments separately, so it's very customizable to your needs. They offer several great options that might work for your specific weeding needs. You could even get one or two handles and switch out different attachments.

That's a great idea for glaces and pestos, which you tend to use in small quantities!

Hey zl700 ... Thanks for the post. I thought of the ambient volume of air, but i believe it would be quickly offset by the warmer air from the house being drawn to it ... a kind of self recurring system. The garage volume to begin with is 24x32x9'. Drawing from a minimally drafty basement of approximately 1600 sq ft would tend to bleed warmer air from the entire house to the condenser than outside air, thus increasing efficiency. braytonak ... what if the ducted portion of this design were forced, in other words, not just vented, but employing a two stage fan, like a whole house or attic fan, to exhaust unwanted cold air(or warm in the summer)? andrelaplume2 ... I really think noise could be abated with egg crate type insulation in the effected areas. THANKS for all of your response! Jeff

Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl. Transfer to 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish. Bake until top is slightly golden, about 1 hour 10 minutes. Sprinkle with onions.
