| And it's very tricky to use. But I think I'll enjoy navigating the learning curve. At least I hope so. This first effort is far from perfect, but it's enough to get me excited. The lens can get a lot closer, but I haven't mastered the focusing yet.
Actually, I deleted quite a few before saving this "first" effort. The depth of field with these lenses is wickedly small! A slight breeze and a moving subject didn't help. This was a small moth:

| Thanks, everyone! It's a Raynox DCR-250. Not expensive--I paid around $40 plus shipping. There's a DCR-150, too, that a lot of people like. The degree of magnification is less, but that makes it easier to use. I heard about the lens on DPReview's Panasonic Talk forum, where I viewed some fabulous shots taken with it. |
