Sorry it has taken me a while to get back and check in. I was out of town for work and just got home. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments. It makes me feel good, I must admit. I always seem to see what needs to be done, and sometimes forget to look at what it is! I will try to answer everyone's questions. Hope I don't miss any. In no particular order... The lilies in the "big" picture are almost all daylilies. The lilies in the close-up pictures I am not sure. Just some bulbs I picked up, probably at a big box store or the local garden center? Sorry I don't have their names. The rose pictured in the 4th picture is Morden Belle. There are actually 3 bushes planted in that bed. I hope that is the rose you meant? Yes, I do have the courtyard of roses and yes they are blooming. However, many of the roses on the fence were taken down this year due to RRD. I have planted bittersweet in their place. Won't be the beautiful flowers, but will provide privacy that won't get RRD. As you can see from the picture below, the fence is now pretty bare looking on the side. I have decided that I will try to keep the roses on the fence across the end and around the corner. The need for privacy there is not so great, as the Wine and Roses weigela in the island bed does screen most of the garden from that end. Again, thank you everyone! I didnt even realize he was in the pic lol. msrose---dh was against us replacing the carpet as our old one was in such nice good condition. but it was kelly green during the day, forest green at night and i couldn't handle it anymore. soooooo, to get me to keep quiet, he allowed me to order a new one. whoo hoo!! dgmarie----i thought of changing the curtains but i begged him about a year and 1/2 ago to let me buy them and they cost me $160 a window so i have to live with them at least another year. i have no where else I can use them and it would be wasteful to just get rid of them. *sighs* happyladi-----i had the table next to the sofa but it blocked the clock. i have to wait to ask DH to move the clock and the pics. for now i can live with it. :o) i was so excited to share all of this with you!!!

If you wish to preserve the story of the quilt, sew a pocket on the back. Write the story along with any pictures, fabric, other items you want included and put them in the pocket. They can be removed and read while the quilt hangs or for cleaning. Many of the online photo services allow you to make a bound scrap book that would be a nice touch. I don't know if any of them offer a small version, but it is possible. Love your quilts, they tell such wonderful stories. A quilt is worth more than a 1,000 words. beverly

Oh my gosh, what a surprise to see my old post again! Thank you RGRS, I'm very flattered. I'm embarrassed to say that my home, decorated for Christmas this year, looks pretty much the same as it did in these pics. When I find a good place for a decoration, I tend to remember and put it back there again the next year. It works for me. The only major change will be my dining room table centerpiece. That I do change every year.
