Super shots! The dahlias are beautiful! The garden is great shape, I'm envious...

Mine is already showing signs of dying. Have a few glads, butterfly bush, Russian sage and morning glories are doing good. I'm trying to keep from 'cleaning' the black eyed susans and purple coneflowers, they consist about 65% of my garden this year...

I checked my lable on this one, I have it as Siloam Ury Winnifred. NOT! I wonder if it can be the weather though. I purchased it last year from a local grower, it was blooming at the time & I looked it up online. It seemed to be correct then. I actually like the color better this year. Looking at it and everything on Roswitha sounds & looks correct. The picture looks right for Forty Second Street, but according to the site I looked at Forty Second St is over 3", this is a bit smaller. However, it really did look like Ury last year, so I think this is probably correct... Sure doesn't look the same though. The grower sold me a small clump, & it almost died out in the heat last year. I wonder if there was a root of another daylily & Ury died out?

Hi Kathy, Unfortunately, there are no big and/or unusual nurseries close to where the Garden Walk will be. They are all in the suburbs. If you take the 190 north to the 290 east to the 90 route to get home, you can stop at Menne. You would need to exit at Niagara Falls Blvd. north on the 290. Menne is a few miles down the road on the left across from Wegmans. There is a nursery before Menne, but Menne carries more unusual items. Remy Here is a link that might be useful: Menne Nursery

Thanks Embo, maybe the drain pipe doesn’t help, but these were planted last summer, in a wind-exposed location and last winter was really long and harsh (many days of -40 Celsius). They look better now than they did in Spring. I promised myself it would be the last time I would plant large specimens. If you look closely, you’ll see that my blue spruces have also suffered damage.

Garden Walk Buffalo is a free, self-guided tour of more than 350 Buffalo gardens, the largest garden tour in America. Held annually on the last weekend of July, this year it will be Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Garden Walk has become one of Western New YorkÂs most anticipated summer happenings. 45,000 - 50,000 visitors join us each year, as we show off our cityÂs beautiful homes and gardens.

Its an older inner city neighborhood that organized to keep their homes up. The detail of the woodwork and the wonderful porches are eye-catching. They have done a lot with small space gardening. Here are a couple more.
