This little bird didn't want to leave home so in the nesting box it stayed until I prodded it to leave.

After creating and saving a Viking Rose file (HUS) which has positions 1,2, & 3 on a 5 x 7 hoop, I transfer it to an Ultimate card. When sewing it out, positions 2 & 3 are always mis-aligned. I have a Vista operating system. I do my customising in VIP Customising (HUS) and Embird32 2010. It makes no difference from which program I save the design, it never stiches out in the proper position (2 & 3) of my 5 x 7 lapped hoop. When I used to have Windows XP and a Viking card reader box, it always worked right. The new computer does not have the old 25 pin hookup, so I cold not use the old box. Is there an adapter which will switch a 25 pin to a USB that will work, or does the Ultimate Box have a fix for this? The Ultimate Box sure does not work!!

Yes, ever since oldest headed off to college, I have been a box saver, and DH is even worse. She would need something mailed, and so if I had a box on hand, I could mail it right away. A special dress for a dance, her baseball glove, her costume for a party, etc. Kept that up through the next 2 in college, graduate school, and law school. I mail them a baked cake for their birthdays when they are in school, and that has to be a very special size, so sometimes I have to BUY that box. I hate spending good money for boxes, so I save them. With the last one finishing school this spring, the habit is no longer necessary, but it is ingrained, especially with DH. I have been known to supply boxes to friends who are moving!!!

Depending on local laws you may not have to pay anything for the service drop upgrade. Virginia used to be home and may still be) to free upgrades from the pole to the meter pan with a service upgrade. For a long time Dominion Power would even give you a meter base for the asking so you would use their preferred one. The POCO has to get power to your meter base. A KVM switch can work very well. Just make sure it can handle your hardware. All the keyboards and mices must use the same interface, and the monitors may have difficulty if you are using high resolution displays. VGA works fine, but if you are using a "full HD" monitor, be careful.

dee1. It's a bluebird. They have been nesting here for quite a few years now. I have two nesting boxes but the starlings and house sparrows compete with them for the spots. Sometimes they kill the fledglings and sometimes they will peck holes in their eggs. But they keep coming back year after year. The house sparrows built a nest in the other box this year so everything seemed to go well. They used to build in wood fence posts but the steel posts replaced them so the bluebirds become almost extinct. Now with the nesting boxes they're making a comeback

I have a baby blue, too, who seems to not want to leave...Its past the estimated time for fledging...I haven't seen mommie (but mayabe not visible to me) around but daddy's there...We have the same prblems with starlings and hosp...This Baby is a survivor out of 5...Hate to think of trauma it must of gone thru as a weee little one!

Juanita: I just kept poking it very lightly with the end of my finger until I got it to respond it moved and peeped at me then I put the door down but didn't latch it. Sat on my porch and watched the box all of a sudden I heard a little bird up in the tree peeping I looked up and there it was. Mamma had left with the other three but papa was still around I heard him calling then they flew off together. I checked the box to be sure. I enjoy having them here but sometimes it gets hectic with the other birds.
