Comments (26)I have nine Agaves potted because they are reportedly tender. These include: A. decipiens A. guadalajarana A. guiengola A. horrida ssp. horrida A. impressa A. isthmensis 'Kissho Kan' A. nizandensis A. potatorum 'Snowfall' A. tequilana 'Sunrise' Potted plants stay outside full time, unless the forecast dictates an overnight move into the garage or the observatory. That said, the last two on the list will see ground this spring, and I may try A. decipiens as well -- just gonna hope for the best. These are fairly large plants I can only pot for so long. I have another A. guiengola in a raised bed, and another little 'Kissho Kan' in the ground as an experiment. Each made it through last winter, but it was exceptionally mild. Is "my building" a reference to a greenhouse? I wouldn't mind a shadehouse, but no room......See Moretesting photo uploads
Comments (11)Thanks Lisa and the two Sara's. Site a bit slow and it would be convenient when uploading more than one photo at time to highlight each photo then hit upload rather than take each one at a time. Guess that would be a Houzz/GardenWeb thing. I feel that the merge will bring new friends and people together. Hopefully, we won't loose our GardenWeb friends as I know some have already gone away to Facebook and other places. I don't do Facebook and I've remained loyal to GardenWeb and wish to continue here. BTW, the photos were taken in my Pacific NW garden in December....See MoreGinkgo bilobal 'Variegata' -- testing pix upload
Comments (7)Ginkgo are (at this point) in their own family and order. They are not conifers but, as gymnosperms - and botanical orphans - are included under the umbrella of the ACS. Cycads do not appear to merit the same treatment! Most Ginkgo cultivars have not been registered and many are mislabeled. The variegated ones are even more problematic as most are not stable. There is a lovely book by Peter Crane called 'Ginkgo' that explores many of these issues....See MoreTest photo to see if I can work out how to do it.
Comments (5)Lois, what a beautiful rose and exquisite photos! I'm glad you were able to share these images. I have had better luck attaching photos after the initial post, uploading to the comment section below the entry after my initial post has been submitted and made an appearance. How did I miss Windermere on my radar? DA should hire you for his catalog production! Carol...See Morejuanital
