I would do black trim. What would be the point of white? It would stick out like a sore thumb against the black and negate the whole disappearing walls effect. And for those who advocate neutral walls, black is pretty neutral. :) ETA: Don't forget that your floors are light and will provide contrast. If you add contrast on the walls as well, it might make the wallpaper stand out in a way you don't want. Here are some pictures I found of both. It may help you decide which effect you prefer. I have both 1% and 5% white solar shades in my house. 1% in bedrooms for privacy and light control. 5% in living room to preserve some of the view and to reduce heat gain. It's a neat concept to be able to see the view through the 5% shade, but as soon as the sun is no longer an issue, which is much of the time (overcast days, trees leafed out and anytime after mid-day), I roll the shades up, because that's the view I really want to see. The sun shines through the 5% shade so much so that it hurts my eyes, so I have to position myself somewhere in the room where it is not an issue. I'm not sure how different black would be, but I've noticed that a lot of restaurants have black. I considered black, but I sort of prefer light and bright. I'm not sorry I ordered white, the view may be blurry, but the mind fills in the blanks, if that makes sense. I ordered mine from blind.com.

To msrmom: I am attaching my other bathroom that is not quite 100% complete yet. Still have art to go.. But in this one we went with Brushed Nickel right down to the toilet flush handle. My vanity lights and the hanging light are white linen. both with brushed nickel. I feel like I am really stuck now on the black and white bathroom. I was reading that the gold could go out of style and the black, but I have had the hole cut into the counter so it's too late. I absolutely love the brushed nickel. It is a beautiful colour. What I could do is change the hardware to brushed nickel, toilet flusher and then maybe some pictures like the attached. This is not my favourite for art, but it got me thinking about silver type finish.

OP, sorry for potentially derailing your thread but I have a question I really wanted to ask for a while. I have a disclaimer first. I do not have any education in architecture and I am not a visual artist of any kind so I do not have trained eye for those things. Here is the question: why in order to have well designed and attractive house we need to hide garage doors ( and televisions, and refrigerators, etc.). Why "there is nothing attractive about garage doors"? I get it if you are building house that recreates architectural style from an era when those things did not exists. But for more modern styles, what's wrong with them?
