Feeling overwhelmed is no fun, but don't let it stop you. You have a good camera, and one of these days it'll feel like an extension of your hand. Seriously, you're off to an excellent start.

Picked up a book on the D90 yesterday by Magic Lantern Guides. The book is good at describing the basics of DSLR's but not specific to the D90. Today I will watch the included DVDs, there must be more specific info on them. If that doesn't help I will go get the "For Dummies" book.

Awm03, thank for saying they look clear & sharp, but that is one thing I am disappoint with. I am going to try using a tripod and different focus modes. I hope I am not expecting too much.

Deb, two things: One, does your camera have a sharpness setting? Maybe this is something you could play around with.

Also, what are you doing in post-processing? Many DSLRs produce images that are somewhat on the soft side, so sharpening is added afterward. The Unsharp Mask tool is usually recommended if you use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, although the program offers Auto Sharpening, too.
