Really neat picture!

From that angle it almost looks like a big ol snowflake full of ice crystals.

I understand the need to get in some plants, but since you have possibly found a treasure trove of plants, resist the urge to do too much digging or removing of stuff you find, until next year's growing season. You may be pleasantly surprised by what the previous owners have already prepared for you, the new home owner. Since perennial bulb flowers are also notorious for a short blooming seasons or even ratchety leaves as they die down each year, even the old plants mixed in with your new lilies could be a great combination! Don't throw all the bulbs away until you have identified them. They could be a wonderful plant that you end up liking.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out... I remember distinctly out of boredom and curiosity on a frigid February morning, I put some of labelled Centaurea imperialism (Sweet sultan) seeds in a Jasmin pot that had some extra space.. To my surprise a plant like this began to grow...However, by May when I put the Jasmin pot out a groundhog ate the whole plant down... So I never saw the flower..... When I sowed the same seeds during the spring I had some miniature fluffy looking plants, resembling sweet sultan..... However, I had two batches of seeds one coming from Ukraine the other from Uk...

Great close-ups, all.

Queen Ann's Lace has a wonderful fragrance that close. Such a simply beautiful flower with a DEEP taproot!

The dandelion almost looks like a Coreopsis that close.

Nicely focused ant in the heart of the Bindweed! I enjoy seeing the vine curling and crawling up other native plants, but not in my garden!
