Pretty good job Rosemarie. You can use actions in programs like Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements (very bare bones version of Photoshop) and Paint Shop Pro. My dad's Dell came with PSP and I know some computers and cameras come with Photoshop Elements bundled with it. Look around in your computer or your house and see if you ever got one of those for free. BTW you're welcome...I'm glad you were able to learn something. I can't tell you what the plants are in your pics, but maybe I can help with the pictures. ;-) jadegarden, The reason that the pics may have been blurry is because of the PB resizing. When you resize an image it loses sharpness. Which is why I recommend to sharpen your image once you resize it. If you allow for the image host to resize your pics you lose control over how clear they are. sjv78736, Check out the link below...if it isn't clear or a little complicated I will go ahead and do a shorter tutorial of it. yeah, i knew that was a great price. and i also knew she was wanting it, so i grabbed the last copy & she repaid me. i didn't even realize that elements had add ons you could buy. there are tons of plug ins made for regular ps- i guess i never thought about the fact that they could work with elements, too. i don't know if you can change brush tips in elements, but if you are a halfway serious user, go to adobe's website and look through the user forums. people make all these neat actions, tips and brushes and you can download them for free. i've gotten some indispensible stuff on there i use every day in cs2. i'm not as familiar withelements, because i only use it when i'm at mom's 3 states away from home and have no other way to edit/look at my digi pix from when we're there. at home i use cs2, all the way. i was really impressed with how much elements has in it for a fraction of the price. and, i assume they've had some updates since the version i gave mom that came with my camera.

When you start repairing your photos create a large file when scanning so you have a good quality picture to start with. I like mine to be 2 or 3 megabytes and saved as bmp (bitmap) which is far better than saving as jpg. Also create a second file, I like to add a number behind a name or a letter if the photo has a numeric title for the second file. This keeps them together when you search. The reason for creating the second file (or even a third and fourth) is that the first is always available if you mess up or are not quite as happy as you might be. As Bob suggests there is a learning curve with photo editing, it can be challenging. But if you keep at it the task can be very rewarding. I use Corel PhotoPaint 11
