Morden Sunrise is a beautiful rose to be sure and an excellent bloomer here with a very fast repeat. It is rarely out of bloom. However, in my experience, it has very good early season resistance to BS, but after the first flush, it is very BS prone and if untreated, will almost completely defoliate with BS. It still blooms through it, but a good clean-up and hard pruning will make it grow new leaves and it doesn't seem to car much as it is very vigorous and of course, very hardy. It is one of few roses that I grow that I will spray with non-dormant strength lime sulphur to keep BS under control. Normally, any BS prone rose is removed after a few years. I have little patience for them. I'll post up some pics a little later as I have them stored on a seperate compact hard drive and not on my PC. One altervative to MS that you should consider and it is a better rose overall is 'Golden Wings'. Not the same range of bloom colours, but just a better all-round rose.

I had to smile about the phase "evil twins". I had no issues with Great Expectations. I have 2 (rescued from the nursery at the end of season as babies) and they have grown well for the last 3 years, every year the eye count increases and the texture and leaf shape and color are absolutely the best (in my opinion). RS on the other hand seems to be less reliable for me. I actually lost one 2 years ago so I got more last year. I will wait for a few more days. All of my hostas have pipped out except 2 on the north side of house (El Nino and First Frost). I am hopeful at least one of the RS will survive. Aaagh a subject close to my heart. I was in your exact position and only through people posting here and my own research did I get to the bottom of it.Yes your right Sunrise do make the Vanguard series though your basic Sunrise dealer may deny this.They also make Restorations, Verde and Essentials.On the Sunrise website you will only see mention of the Sunrise line and Essentials which is the entry level model.If you get put in touch with a dealer from this site most likely he will be quoting you for the Sunrise line. Vanguard and the top of the range Restorations have their own websites through which you should be able to find your nearest dealer, I was. I agree with you in that its a most peculiar set up and totally lacking in transparency.Apparently its a way of having more dealers selling basically the same product and also a way of rewarding the better performing dealers.
