'Naming error' on digi camera...

Can anyone help me figure out why, all of a sudden, I can't take pictures with my digital camera? It says "naming error" on the screen.

This card has always worked, is not old, and the only thing I've done different with it lately is put it in a new laptop to download pictures...which I haven't quite figured out how to do yet. It's totally different than on the other computer.

The card is not locked.

Does anyone know what "naming error" means? I can't find any reference to it in the Canon user guide. The camera is a Power Shot S2IS.

Thanks,
~Sandy~

What card are you using (Size/brand/type)? Maybe the card was reformatted by the laptop...

Have you tried to reformat in the camera?

I would reformat it in the camera. You will lose any pictures on it when you do that, so be sure to have them saved elsewhere.
