Do you still have the manual for the scanner? I assume this is a stand alone flat bed scanner? Might pay to remove the scanner program then re-install but check the manual to see if it is like the printers where you should not connect it to the computer until the program prompts you. Possibly a corrupt file there somewhere.

I'm not a pro but once I had been using adobe Photoshop cs6 and had to temporarily use elements I found photo tampering no longer fun. IâÂÂm not saying Elements is a bad program; Elements is a great program. But CS6 is an awe inspiring program with endless capabilities! Yup the catch is itâÂÂs also $800+ Most of us incl. myself can't afford. The good news is they have what is called the student / teacher edition thatâÂÂs identical in every way but the price tag. So if you (or family member) are currently enrolled or employed (not just teachers) at any university just follow my link or give them a call they are very nice. My version of PE is 2.0, an older version so it may have changed. But this is what I do. 1 open picture in PE (look at the title bar of the picture and it will tell you what % of full size image is currently displayed) 2 click on "image" on the menu 3 click on "resize" on the submenu that opens 4 click on "image size" in the dialog box that opens, click into where it says pixels and change it to percent, then click into the box to the left of percent and change - I ususally use 15-17 percent. Then click "OK" The image then becomes quite small on your screen. Go to "View" on the menu and click on "View Actual Pixels". This will show you the picture in its actual size. Also when saving your file, be sure to do a "Save As" and change the name of the file so that you do not write over the original high quality picture. (I usually just add the word SMALL to the file name) After changing the name of the file and clicking OK, another dialog box will appear. I usually change to a quality to 4 in this dialog box, this will keep the physical size of the file quite small for posting. Hope this helps. If you have further questions, I will try to help. I'll check out those books - first see if they are in the library before buying one. I really want to learn how to use Photoshop to do some decorating. I want to try different window treatments, room colors etc. I also want to learn how to fix background issues as my latest family photo has this god awful floor lamp coming out of a family member's head and would love to remove it! I figured out how to get the lamp out of the picture, but just want to fill in the "white" spot with some of the background wall color on the other side of the photo. Just can't figure out how to do that! I tried cutting and pasting but it's an awkward shape.
