rustyj how often do u cut your grass?? The CCA of the battery is not what it will provide your starter motor, it is what the battery is capable to put out. Especially up north, when a car starts in the dead of winter there is greater voltage drop thus resulting in higher amps (given plus harder to crank)- the starter motor will use x Watts of power so that is where the higher amps come in handy. for a mower with a decent battery in the summer, your mower will be using nowhere close to the max of a good basic battery so it should crank the same high or low CCA. fjacky, your real problem is as one mentioned - check your charging\electrical system. hook up a voltmeter while it is running vs not running if same, charging problem, if higher while running (~14.8v @ full speed) then when off, disconnect batt cable and test amp draw to see if there is a trickle drain discharging your batt.

Since there seems to be good answers received on the intitial question, how about a variation of a plaster problem? We have a 1858 wood framed farmhouse with plastered walls. In one wall there is an old brick chimney that goes up inside the wall (it is a thick wall in this location). The plaster on each side of this chimney is applied right over the brick. We have a problem with the brick in the chimney wicking up moisture at its foundation from the dirt in the crawl space which is transfered to the plaster. This causes the plaster to soften and sluff off with bubbled paint over it. I have previously scraped the bad plaster off coated the brick with Thompsons Water Seal and then filled in the area with joint compound sanded and repainted. The problem returns. Would there be another product or technique that we should use? Thank you for you responses.

I made a lot of these carousel horses in the past. You should first fill the holes. I cut down the dowels holding the springs, glued them in place and filled with wood putty. Then if you like it crackled, paint the entire horse with the undercolor you like, put on the crackle medium, paint with the finish color and wait for crackle. I can't wait so I use a hair dryer. If you don't want to crackle, just paint the areas the colors you like. I paint roses on the seat and down the neck. The mane and tail in gold. I spray it with a finish varnish. I mount it on a closet dowel (using small dowels under neath to keep it from sliding down the pole. The base can be wood or an outdoor umbrella stand (please paint though). Hope this gets you started.
