Stunning it may be (or not). But if you are concerned with privacy why would anyone do this? There are solutions to let light in, have a view of who's at the front door, and still maintain privacy. These solutions involve transom lights, side lights and door lights above eye level. Another option is to use partial or full height glazing and install movable wood louver panels on the inside, which can be open in the day time and closed at night as may be desired by the occupants.

I can speak only to having done our master bath and closet, and it seemed crazy to me that the previous color was SW Accessible Beige (not dark) and we were redoing in BM Super White. The painters did not prime bath area before painting saying they prefer to just use the paint in more coats, which was absurd to me at $75 a can of BM paint! Took them 3 coats. I was responsible for doing the large closet and although I primed first, still it took two coats for full coverage. I would insist on priming 2 coats if necessary (and cheaper), matter of fact have the primer tinted to the room color might help too. I swear paint is getting thinner requiring more coats no matter what. I've used Behr, SW and BM and find this to be the case. Good luck to you!!

Yes, @Patricia Colwell they do several 2x2 stain samples on the sanded floor. If I understand correctly, even no stain with just clear coat will enhance the color of the wood and I should take rugs into consideration. Years ago, I painted a bedroom with 2 light green walls (north and west) and 2 white walls. The white picked up the green which was very unintended and unexpected.
