What is the battery's actual name? LB-1? I can be more help if I knew the actual battery.

You can find those on the site I linked in my previous post. FWIW, those are just standard AA rechargable batteries. Energizer or Duracell will work fine. Buy batteries with a higher mAh, in simple terms it reperesents how long the battery keeps a charge.

Just so you know, you don't need to use Olympus Camedia batteries. Any rechargeable AA will do. I guess I'm just reiterating what Joe said above.

My experience with Ni-MH (Nickel-Metal hydride) cells is that they loose charge quickly. They can be down to 50% capacity in one month. Its best to carry spare sets on a shoot and to charge all of them before going.

I have had good luck with the ones above that came with the camera I bought in February 2002. (6 years now)
I just now am noticing they don't keep a charge long now so figured I should by some new ones.
I haven't tried those new ones I just bought (above) but hope they work as good as the Camedia ones.
