Lovely Joan,

They look similar to Trillium.

I'm told they're spiderwort. We have trillium at home (Minnesota). I love those!

Absolutely brilliant! Do you use a tripod? I've been thinking of getting one, but don't know if it is worth the hassle of getting out and setting up each time.

I've been admiring your photo's for a while now.

Thanks, Jean. The only time I use a tripod (cause I'm lazy) is when I shoot waterfalls, fireworks, or want a long exposure after sunset or sunrise. Lots of people use a monopod. Not me, yet, though!

OK, I'll bite....I understand about the fireworks and long exposure, but why for waterfalls? LoL

Cause I like the blurry, silky look.
Here's 2 examples.

OMGosh, those are gorgeous pictures! WoW!

I just learned this at my camera class tonight! LoL

I also learned I bought the wrong camera! Mine is so automatic I can't change the apperature or exposure and I can't meter. There is no "manual controls" to speak of. Oh, I can change the ISO, and the white balance and a few other things, but I'll know better next time!

WOW! Joan,

Those waterfall pics are awesome. Silky

Time for me to buy a new camera and tripod.
