Melva, Ha! so you have roses already? Thanks posting your pics. We're having a wonderful spring here, and today the sky is gray and the air is moist and sweet: the image of spring. I love April. We don't have any roses in flower yet except for a few blooms on 'Old Blush': surprising because the roses normally get going around the end of this month, so this is early. We have the first bearded irises in bloom, the last narcissus, and the glory of the tulips; the sweet-scented viburnums are flowering now, and the lilacs are starting. I love these flowers, and yet the peculiar beauty of April is the tender, delicate growth of the new foliage, the flood of green that washes over the country: immortal nature reborn. While I continue my search for the right plant/nursery to order this jade from, I was hoping another GW member might have a cutting or two (rooted or not) they'd be willing to trade for in the meantime. I'll be taking cuttings of my easter cacti (orange, light and dark pink) and thanksgiving cacti (pink and orange) as well as an echevaria of some type (a garden variety I'm sure) this weekend. As these aren't yet rooted cuttings, the trade might have to wait until I get them established or I can just send you what I clip. I honestly haven't done too many trades, so I want to play fair -- feel free to send me an email and we can hash out details if you're interested. TIA! Jeni

You gals are so cute. Made me laugh this morning. Too funny. Karen, maybe just make a new wreath or ornament for the Christmas in July. I don't want to dig out my decorations either--waaay too much work. (And too hot to be climbing around pulling them off the shelves in the shed.) Whew! Ok, I can tell Dreamgoddess is going to be our "motivator" when it comes time to decorate for Christmas. Dream, were you on here this past Christmas? Did you see the things we all posted then? If not, you might want to look at some of the old posts. I know you will love the stacked plates. And Sandi's "Pink" tree, and you should see Judith's tables and trees! That will give you a Christmas "fix" for now. LOL Jaybird, I can tell you must be one of those "organized" people if you are already checking out the light supply for Christmas--not me, I'm one of those "go get it when I need it" people--makes every job harder!
