Try posting a new message altogether. To answer your question, if well-sited and given proper growing conditions, Seiryu will get much larger than the size you have specified......about double, in fact. I'm not sure what zone you are in but colder zones will limit the size these trees achieve. That, said, trees just keep growing, as long as they are alive. Personally, I do not recommend pruning a Japanese maple to keep it to a size significantly smaller than it naturally wants to be - it destroys the growth habit and appearance. Do some more research to find a tree appropriate to your zone and size requirements.

we are not afraid, lol. it started in the neighbors yrd and does spread into our blue spruce and around on the ground. we started trimming the spruce a couple of yrs ago then the creeper started climbing up it. easy fix really, the last 2 yrs i have just used a garden rake to pull it down. since it comes out all attached to each other it is only a 5 minute job but needs to be done yearly. we love it, it creates a great privacy fence. i read a tip somewhere about creeper and ivy too if you are worried about it on your house. if you girdle or sever the stems at the base and let it die off, it shouldnt do damage to your shingles or siding when you finally pull it off.

I can't personally recommend any West Va nurseries, and am not sure how far from Bluefield some of the ones in Va I've been to are. The 1st one I could think of in West Va is Sunshine farm in Renick, but they don't seem to get rave reviews. Weird Dude's Plant Zoo is in Staunton, Va. They sell nice plants, but it would be a bit of a drive. My suggestion is, if you haven't already, go to Garden Watchdog and use the search feature. You can select states and check out the ratings for different nurseries. West Va is a gorgeous state with breathtaking vistas. I've passed through plenty of small towns that had yards full of plants, they must have local greenhouses somewhere.

As if there could ever be a problem with extra beer... There's never a problem with extra beer, the problem is the shortage of beer! Been to a few parties where that was a problem! Course that was in my younger days! Minnesota has it's own unique issues. Can't buy a car on Sunday. Can't buy liquor or strong beer on Sunday but you can buy 3.2. Minnesota is one of I think 3 states that sell 3.2. I think 3.2 should be outlawed but that's me. Some places you could go in and buy a beer in a bar, ask them to not open it. However you have to be careful. Some places could get in trouble if you take it off premises if they don't have an off-sale license and even if they do, then there's the Sunday laws. ARGH! To me something is legal to sell or illegal. How does it make sense to anyone other than some Bible-waving lunatic to say it's legal to sell beer 6 days a week but not on 1? Blues laws are obsolete. People work all different hours and should be able to buy their legal goods when they want to buy them. When I worked graveyard shift it always irritated be because at the time restaurants only served breakfast at 7AM. Now I'm a fan of breakfast but after working all night I wanted something more like a steak, meatloaf or something to sink my teeth into.
