What would you think of.....?

When we post our photos for the assignments, what would everyone think about posting some information about the photo? Maybe such as camera and/or lens used,location where the photo was taken, etc? It might instigate some sharing of techniques, equipment info, etc?

Or would that kill the spontaneity? Just thinkin'. :)

pfmastin, you can download a program called Opanda IExif- it's freeware- and by right clicking on certain photographs you can see information about the camera they were taken with. For instance, that gorgeous picture of Konrad's Waxwing, I think it was, was taken with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. And it tells the date it was made, gives settings used, etc. Also that Minrose's duck picture was made with an Olympus Optical Co. LTD. Konrad and all, I hope you don't mind that I check. The program doesn't work on all photos. I think it has something to do with how much they are edited. Google Opanda and you will find the program.

No, not at all...it seems, some photographers don't want them to see it?
There are programs where you can delete this.
Sometimes,.. if I send a picture to Steve's Digicams for photo of the day contest,
they want you to remove the exif info, this helps to decrease the file size.
Have never landed one picture yet.
I will put my gear into my page soon.

mugnaini Heat Pumps are always a consideration especially in a dual fuel application(HP with nat gas furnace backup) in a climate like yours. I like HPs as well-for the right application. HPs are not for everyone or every application. There are many factors to consider for HPs and those include location/winter climate, comfort, home's envelope/insulation properties, and electric rate vs other alternative heating fuels. I want to go back to furnace sizing and the statement made in my previous post. I don't know why dealers want to oversize. I would want a load calc performed on heating. I still believe the 100K mdls are oversized. More of a big deal on the Trane furnace than the Carrier furnace. Your heat sourse fuel is nat gas, not propane? The Carrier quote #2 is a nicer system than the Trane system. That Carrier furnace is 3 stg while the Trane is two stg. The Carrier quote includes a new correctly sized refrigerant lineset and new box filter? dealers have inspected your ductwork system? you have damper control on supply lines to main floor, upstairs, and basement zones? If not bthey should be added to better balance airflow. I can provide the AHRI performance/eff numbers if you are interested. IMO

Oh, I hadn't seen Princess Anne's attire before. You have to wonder who advises the 'royal' women on clothing. How did Princess Diana break away, overcome that awful bedskirt of a wedding gown and learn to *dress*? Princess Anne's outfit makes me think of WWII films where the British housewife answers the door in a housecoat. No, no, wait... she clearly does NOT have rollers in her hair, so I guess that wasn't the look she was going for. Many of these women have legs that make you wish for long hemlines. Some are also wearing what only they believe to be their dress size. (No mirrors in the house, dear?) I've never been near a formal event in Paris, but the most exceptionally beautiful group of women I have ever seen were those attending a ball at our hotel in Montreal. There was not an unatractive woman among the several dozen I saw. They were not all beautiful, and they were of all ages, shapes and sizes, but each was perfectly groomed and dressed, and each moved with grace. Memorable! (Of the few elegantly attired guests at this wedding, many seemed unable to put one foot in front of the other, gracefully.)

Ohhh! I am so happy to hear!! There were some kind comments on my last console table try, but overall I still bombed out. This was again trying something different so I was worried about going too far again. The comments of so many talented and visually gifed members are just the boost of confidence I needed to venture out of my safe zone. As far as size, the lamp is 27 inches tall, and feels like it is a good height and proportion. The center of my living room always feels flat so some height will probably be a good thing. Thank you all for the comments on the lamp. DH purchased it for Valentine's a few years ago. What is really fun is that the bird looks like a little statue of my bird when she is about to spring to flight. It makes people double take (although the bird was never fooled). :OD Parma, you hit my big worry. I didn't know if the entire cast needed to be A-list or if it was okay just let the lamp take the starring role. I'm so relieved that you addressed that.

Thank you all sooooo much for your terrific comments and suggestions!! You are Awesome! Thanks to your replies we have decided to... (as lukkiirish put it) "snag that puppy and paint her up" (too funny!). We are scheduled to pick it up this Sunday! Hooray!! I'm very excited (and a touch intimidated) about my first cottage style makeover project. I was thinking milk paint might be fun to try for a cottage look - has anyone here used it before? As for the doors, I think I'll paint them and live with them for a while first, and if I'm not happy with them, I can try your clever ideas of using chicken wire, or removing the doors completely and going with open shelves instead. Wish me luck, and thanks again! :)

I don't mind that you checked, it was actually my Olympus 3000 Digital camera, if you want to get technical. We used to do that awhile back when I visited more, I think it would be nice to know, if you can remember to do put it on is what my problem was.

Including your camera(s) on your member profile seems like a nice solution. In addition, one could exchange thoughts with the individual, as far as settings,lenses,etc.,once you checked the member page for the camera type. The previously mentioned freeware is interesting also.

Thanks for the information on the EXIF freeware. I'll look into that. I did post my camera on my page. I'll (try to remember to) add it to my posts and see how that goes. :)
