My friend is on assignment in NYC, and she sent this shot of Central Park taken from an office window.

Beautiful! I always wondered what Central Park looked like. I have heard a lot about it but had no idea how pretty it is.

great shot of the skyline. I don't know if I would want to be up that high! I see they still have some snow there! We just got rid of ours this week, thanks to an unusual few warm days.(Chicago area)

I have no experience with PTAC or this company. I found them and offered it as a suggestion. The equipment you have is made by Trane. I am not sure what equipment they sell. This type of equipment somewhat specialized. Therefore it is important you find an installer who has experience installing PTACs. Perhaps they would be willing to provide a reference of someone who lives in your building. Here is another PTAC installer in NYC if you want a second quote.

Yes thanks for the plug Jeff, for those who don't know me, this is my home Botanic Garden. Last I knew, Fridays were discounted for Seniors & Saturdays before noon were free admission. I work full time, so weekends are really my only option. I haven't been there in a while, but I recall one can see there are Aloes in bloom there in about February. I've also seen a Banana Tree there bear fruit, very cool. The Cherry Blossom festival there is a BIG annual event. The Magnolia Plaza has all manner of Magnolias, Including yellow ones which are quite striking.

So much goodness here. I love her, her aesthetic, her personality and her personal style. I actually like the way she played with the greens, using the more neutral drab one as a ground, bouncing the brighter ones off of that. The art is beautiful and arranged so well. The animal theme is playful and warm. The apartment itself is so charming. As for the general look, I have found all my friends who grew up in classically decorated houses have gone on to decorate likewise, that goes down all the way to people in their early 30s. I don't think you can grow up in a house decorated that way and switch to a more fashion based look, though I can imagine people choosing to go very modern, as in classic modern, not contemporary things, but Breuer chairs, LC sofas, that sort of thing. She works for Peter Pennoyer, one of my favorite architects. His work is classic. His wife is the ID Katie Ridder.

Great picture....we were there in December but there was no snow.
We are going back in May so I will take lots of pics to share. Our new grandson lives in Manhattan with his parents....not far from Central Park.

Central Park is one of the Great American Spaces. It's huge, beautiful, perfectly planned out by Olmsted, and used by millions of people for a wide variety of activities. My brother in law lived in Manhattan and we always visited the park when we were there.

Actually, I don't think there's a formal list of great American spaces, but there should be. Might be a good topic for a posting...
Central Park.
Grand Canyon.
Chicago - where the big fountain is by the lake.
Las Vegas strip - whether you think it's ugly or beautiful, you can't deny that it's a gathering place for America.
Probably Times Square.
New Orleans - once and future, hopefully.

Excellent picture! NYC is my hometown, but I've lived in the country for a long time now. I look at that shot and think that Central Park is the only part that makes any sense. :-)
