Suzanne,thanks for sharing these with us.I think I'll check them all out. I wish I had been reading White Crow Walking when he was just minutes from me,but I started his blog after it was mentioned in our local newspaper. I don't read him religiously but do check in from time to time. I don't read blogs,other than a few political wonks who seem to know what's going on,but even then you have to read both the Dems and the Neocons to get a fairly accurate picture as they are all so slanted. No objectivity whatsoever. I guess it boils down to reading either books or blogs in my spare time,I just don't have time for both and books still win out.

The pink flowers in the very front (not the Gaillardia) look like Foxglove but I don't think they are. I know the RED spiky things are annuals. I picked them up on a whim two years ago because the little tag had a humming bird on it (I am easily swayed by shiny objects LOL). I have a closer up shot of pink flower and humming birds and bumblebees LOVE it. Foxglove have dots on the inside of the flower and these have lines. buyorsell888 - any photoshop you can get cheap would be fine. Look for Adobe Elements - same thing - about 90% of Photoshop CS and much cheaper because it does not have publishing stuff with it. And before I get warned - I really do appreciate the compliments - I say this 100% honestly - if I can brighten someones day it really does make me happy. There are two kinds of artists (and I feel really weird calling myself that), the kind that create to make money (not a bad thing) and the kind that create for their own enjoyment and then are surprised others appreciate it. That is me. . . not that I turn down money. BTW - did you know that the sound of a bumblebee is not from his wings but is inside his body. And I know someone is wondering - it's an old Nikon D70.

Hey Diane, I tried your son's forumla of standing back & zooming in. I think it worked pretty good. I'm not sure if my walls have slanted or the tripod sunk on one side, but it doesn't matter, I can take care of that. but I do think the pix are a bit clearer. Will keep practicing till I get it right. Thanks again! Pat

They are typically '16"' because that's the size of your framing. It's actually 15 1/4" or something to fit between the studs. It would be fine next to your vanity. I have 4 of them in my current house, and had planned for one in the new house, but haven't gotten to it yet. But, that's assuming your builder hasn't done anything funky with the framing and plumbing. In my case, there's a 25" wall next the vanity, and then a door through the wall right in front of the vanity. Rather than having a 16" cavity, and then a 6" cavity and then the support studs for the door header, the framer put a stud right in the middle of the wall. No medicine cabinet would have fit. I noticed it and had the middle stud moved over. And then the plumber came in, and ran pipes EVERYWHERE. Seriously, I think he added extra pipes just to fill my wall cavities. Every single wall in my second floor has plumbing in it. And in some cases, he's run 3 vent pipes in cavities next to each other, and then tied them together at the top of the wall and run 1 out the roofs. We got lucky (or maybe the GC smacked him) and there isn't a pipe where the medicine cabinet will someday go. But you may have to watch your plumber.
