I'll try giving it a haircut and see what happens. I wonder if you saw a picture if you'd think differently about being able to save it though. How do I go about posting a picture? By the way, the grass you mentioned isn't quite it. The grass was much "stiffer" - it stood up and didn't "flop" and had the curls at the tips. And I don't think it was dead, it just never grew back after I cut it back.

That vanity top looks really nice, actually. I agree with going over to the decorating forum for paint suggestions (you'll get many, and very specific!). Would you also consider changing the shower door to a curtain? I can't tell what's above the shower tile - is that a trim tile in a different color? Is there wall above that? Personally, I'd just paint a really serene color that goes with the vanity, put in a nice shower curtain and rug, and you'll have a totally updated look.

Ingrid, since you are reworking this room, how about considering chairs rather than another love seat? Do you come into this room to read? I think it is also an entry, yes? I am sometimes a symmetry hater but think 2 chairs might balance the room if there is sufficient space.
