HiYa Mark and Judy......I used an electric saw for some of those cuts.....I couldn't stick that chainsaw near my "head" I want to tell you the Jewel Orchids have done very nicely this summer......I planted them in an 8x10x2 oval dish with drainage and grown in a coarse pine bark.....delicate new leaves appear everywhere......I planted them deep at first but have gradually been exposing their "tubers".....I'll get a pic .........and more Mules Ears than the GrandeCanyon ! We had a pleasant day up here on Vancouver Island. In our valley the sun was shining and all was right with the world. We get rain, rain and more rain up here, but just one day of sunshine makes life worth living! Supposed to be nice for a couple of days...then....well let's just say that if you are storing Noah's Ark, just send it up my way, LOL.

John, It does take a good deal of power for high powered LEDs. I figure my setup will use about 900 watts. I do plan on setting up my solar panels sometime. That should help. My greenhouse is attached to the kitchen, so all the CO2 from cooking goes into the greenhouse. Because it is double insulated, it gets very warm even it is freezing outside. With the door open to the kitchen, it actually keeps the house warm and saves a lot of heating cost. dcarch

Orange Smoothie was picked out of a line up at a local nursery that usually only carries the more common ones. You never know where you will bump into something worthwhile........... Brad: Burning Inheritance is one I will always have. That vibrant color just sings across the garden......Alex: Linda Beck stays because of her early day color. Even given PM shade, when the heat of the day rolls in she starts turning an ugly shade of puce. I think she would do much better for longer in a cooler climate such as yours.....Hello CAROL. But your climate does have it's advantages. I don't ever remember a time when we had such cool weather when some of my daylilies were blooming. I thought the colors were faked - yet I was looking right at them. It was a revelation to me...... Signet: Welcome aboard the yellow train.
