I was wondering the same thing. I almost posted a couple of days ago to see if rcnaylor still has his team logo on his front porch, but figured that might be a tender subject.

Recntly I have been wondering the same thing...

Here is a picture of the moon I took a couple years ago with my Pentax K10d and my cheap $15 manual focus, manual apeture 500mm lens

No.. sad to say I haven't driven the 25 miles to go get any of my "old" fish. I have just the one that I couldn't find last fall. Might be cheaper to go to the local pond store and buy a couple of new ones. Many plants are still in pots, but I have this week off so I've been extremely busy hacking out the over-whelming bittersweet, sumac, grape vines, raspberry bushes and assorted weeds to make room for the plants. The weather has been so beautiful this week. We have the pool open (last year it was not open) so it is so much fun to work on the weeds, jump in the pool to cool off, then get back to work. LOVE IT!!!! Then I make a martini and go sit by the pond and feed my one lonely fish. I can get so lost in time just sitting there. It's not big, but it provides whatever my soul needs to re-charge. Only found one tick today and that was still mobile, so I brushed it off and got out of the area. I'll check carefully tonight to make sure none have anchored themselves to my cushy body!!! hahahaha they have plenty of space to do that. I will hate to see vacation come to an end on Monday. I am "practicing for retirement"!!!!

I met my sister yesterday to get our toes done. I can't twist my body anymore to get a good aim at 'em. And when they're painted I can't tell as easily how fast the nails have grown. the girl there just couldn't believe how long they were. Mine grow fast - so do my fingernails - and my hair.! Guess I'll have to go there every 2 months or so whether I think it's time or not... We had a good time. her dh drove her and then ran errands while we were in there. Then we went across the road to have dinner. Nice new place (to me; they've eaten there a number of times). I got an Italian sandwich w/ side of pasta salad. It was getting late so I had to watch so it didn't get too dark for me. by the time I ate my pasta salad I decided I'd better leave, so got the sandwich to go. I should have left there 20-30 minutes sooner. was getter darker than I like out there to be driving. but I've got food for about 2 days from it. had a small corner of it after I got home and it was very good. i'm going to go down to W shortly to get the dog some cookies. ran out earlier. i'm out of the small ones that she gets after going outside to do her business... I could probably use some cookies too - will get mine from the subway counter - they usually have raspberry cookies there. went to my 3rd eye doctor on Friday. He showed me my eyeballs on the computer screen... the right looked like a blood moon. The left - total white 'full moon'. He said that the cataract causes the light to scatter and all it shows is white. he also told me that my iris is stuck to my pupil. Oh dear. that sounds messy... He told me that with the new technology in glasses, some people can adjust for a cataract with those glasses instead of surgery. But I wasn't one of those people... darn! I see the surgeon this Wednesday, so will ask him about the iris/pupil mess. Neither the retinal doc nor the surgeon mentioned that to me. glad you are doing ok Shades. you're lucky you aren't sore everywhere!

I bought my first hostas at Lowe's- was looking for something that would be pretty with the red Japanese maple I had just planted, and the Rainforest Sunrise caught my eye. Then I started looking at Pinterest and just HAD to have a Blue Mouse Ears. I bought that at a good local nursery, and put it in a pot, like I had seen online. The next Spring, I was eagerly anticipating the appearance of those 3 RS's, and it seemed like maybe they had disappeared. Since I was aware of gardenweb, I started looking for info- wondering what had gone wrong. . Bottom line- they're late sleepers. They came up eventually and are still fine.... but by then I was getting hooked on reading and studying about hostas, both in GW, and elsewhere. And because of that, I've given up buying them at big box stores or even the nicer local nurseries because the fear of HVX is ever present. So far- no problems with my RS's or BME's, but the virus can show up after many years' dormancy. I live close to a great hosta nursery- Made in the Shade. He has a large selection, and I've purchased a number of beautiful plants there. This year I've tried mail order for the first time. Got four beautiful plants from Hallson's. And I'm waiting for some ordered from Northern Grown Perennials. I shop the other nurseries and big box stores for other plants and shrubs, etc. But I walk past their hostas so as not to be tempted.

Yep, I think unless you are a Cougar...or maybe a Bear, football has been a touchy subject around the state this year.:)

First, great shots guys. I'm never am very happy with my moon shots.

Second, photography is a much happier topic around here than college football!

My coach needs to recruit himself out of a problem because coaching out of it hasn't been working too well!

Yes..best shots are taken when the moon is like this, then you see the craters better...kind of half moon, full moon would be worse.
Looks like the last picture is enhanced in a program, sharpness, contrast etc.

I found one my wife made with Canon Powershot SX40 handheld, original, no Photoshopped. IMO, best camera for your money.

Konrad, I used the Canon Powershot SX 30 IS for the picture above. Your photo is much nicer, crisper.

I'll have to look into the Canon Powershot SX40, which I didn't know existed. It must be new.

Funny, I've never taken a photo of the moon. Odd now that I think about it.

I do have a photo of jupiter, nothing fancy at all. Was at the beach last summer with a clear night sky, saw Jupiter and snap snap snap.

Hand held, 190mm, f2.8, iso3200, 1/6 sec on the shutter. With the exception of cropping the image, no post-processing was done at all.

Nice...and three of Jupiter's moon's also! I tried taking a picture of Jupiter but I never got any decent ones.

Not sure, but that looks like a galaxy to the lower right of Jupiter.
