Not all will bloom this year (boohoo)...there are still quite a few I'm waiting to see (yet). It is very entertaining to see what they're doing each morning. Today, I'm enjoying some purples and have decided to see if a few will take a pod...we'll see...won't be picking those, lol! Thanks -- it's so much work! If I weren't retired, I wouldn't have this much garden. There is nothing on the west side of our house except the parking area and a few foundation shrubs. My DH is suggesting that I put gardens over there, but it will really have to be something low maintenance. Maybe when HE retires! He does a lot on weekends. He enjoys it too. Great news! DS1 will be home from London on Tuesday. He MAY have a teaching position at a university that's about 1 1/2 hours away (for Spring 2008). Until then, he'll live here and travel to do contract archaeology. He helps a lot in the garden. Most of what you see outside the fence that's bigger than a perennial, he planted last fall. When he was home for Easter, he planted Provence lavender for me. I am always sending him photos and he checks my blog everyday to see if there's any news. The weeds weren't too bad today after the rain. It was so great to get the rain. It was just in time. Things were getting really bad. Cameron

Hi Calypsogirl, Have you looked at Picasa? It's a free program for your computer and a website that allows up to 1 GB of storage. The program allows you to organize them in folders on your computer. You can add captions and comments, crop, straighten, adjust contrast, and lots of other special effects. When you have them exactly like you want them on your computer, they have an easy upload button which connects to your online account. I'll give you a link so you can check them out. Since you are using an external drive to move your photo files from one computer to another, it makes sense to organize the files on this drive to a system that fits your style, and when you get it organized, then merely copy the results to the other computers. The file system you need depends on how many photos you take or collect and how often. One system I use: Create folders (directories) for each year: yr2005 pic; yr2006 pic; etc. And then, within each year folder, create monthly folders. If there are months without photos, leave these out. They can be created later if needed. Include the date of the photo in the file name. The day-month-year format is recommended, e.g., 12Dec2008 Wabash River Bridge. If you take less than 100 photos per year, monthly folders may not be necessary. The system above works for general purpose photos that you shoot, but you may wish to create a different library for other purposes. For example, you collect photos for a genealogical work. You may want to organize by Surname, Subject. Example: SMITH> Cemeteries> Macedonia, Grayhill, Decker, Union, etc. SMITH> Obituaries SMITH> Census; Buildings; Autos; Possessions
