Going Camera hunting today....

here's the interesting possibilites....

Canon 40d

Nikon D80 or D40 with two lens

Olympus E510 with 2 lens

a faster P&S, thinking maybe Panasonic FZ18

I decided after reading reviews the only way to decide is having it in my hands...I know i fell for the D40, i've tried in store...

My concern is shutter lag and fast focus...I know a few have been added to someones collection here...so would like to know how these fare to you in these concerns of mine...

I will not be making a decision today...but I got a little xtra money and it is itching for a new camera...waiting for a long while(it seems) to upgrade...

Juanita, if you do a lot of low light photography, don't consider the Panasonic. They are notorious for noisy photos in low light. P & S cameras are all guilty, but for some reason the Panasonics seem to be worse. (Saw the thread with your GS eating an apple and you complained about the grainy low light shots.) LOL, I took some bird shots on a dark, snowy day and the snow looks like it has confetti sprinkle over it. DSLR's don't have that problem.

georgia-rose The Liberty was from Colonial Farms, Bud wasn't there as he's been ill lately, but his wife brought a great selection. I guess I'll make a road trip LOL. Sounds like a great excuse for a drive. whip1 Yes, that is a MINI, my other obsession!! I bought the Red Dragon to commemorate my yearly trip to "The Dragon" (a road that runs between NC and TN) where 500+ MINIs and their drivers gather the first weekend in May every year! debhembree57 The show I went to is the Georgia Hosta Society's yearly show and sale. I'm not sure if they have others, I'll post a link to their site. cfmuehling, one of the other hostas I wanted to buy was Torchlight. They only had one left so I let my friend buy it. Thanks again! Its just a Cannon Power Shot "point and shoot". Not anything as fancy or expensive as a Rebel. I didn't adjust any of the optional settings other than the super macro. Good advertisement for Cannon! Not the photographer! But thanks anyway! Sure is fun!

I heard my bluebirds over the weekend guys!:) And although I haven't been feeling too well, I hope better is to come. We just had thunderstorms go through here in Ohio after having 9-12 inches of snow. Worst flooding we've had in YEARS! But the forecast is showing the pattern of the pre-spring era! Almost nesting season!
